We are still selling items but it appears we will have raised close to $1,000. - The Make the Season Kind Concert. Thank you to the Centre’s musicians and all who attended this event. A cheque for $905.50 was delivered with pride to Jane Buckley, Chair of the District 3 Food Banks. Congratulations and celebrate because you all have indeed proven your kindness. Hats Off for Cards- Friday, December 27th at 1:30pm. The Chester Family is hosting this initiative - a way to bridge the generational gap between youth and seniors. A fun and interactive way to connect. This event involves youth volunteers hosting card games including blackjack and 45’s while enjoying some refreshments. All participants are encouraged to wear a fun hat to show a sense of camaraderie and youthful spirit. After Christmas this is something exciting to look forward to, which is very important to the human spirit! Open House- Monday December 30th – 1:30-Drop in. Have a Coffee and a Treat. Core Strength and Mobility- Starting Tuesday, January 7 at 10:30am and Thursday, January 9 at 11:45am. $140 once a week, $200 for twice a week for 10 weeks or $15 for drop in. Functional Mobility- Starting Tuesday, January 7 at 11:30am and Thursday, January 9 at 10:30am. $140 once a week, $200 for twice a week for 10 weeks or $15 for drop in. Learn to row – Starting Friday, January 10 at 9:30am- $50 for 5 Weeks. Rowing for fitness- Starting Friday, January 10 at 10:30am and 11:30am- $120 for 10 weeks. Beginner Bridge Lessons- Starting January 15 at 1:00pm. If you have ever wanted to learn how to play, come and learn how to! Cost is $25 for 8 weeks. Darts- Restarting in the new year. Scams are becoming more sophisticated, making it crucial to stay informed to protect yourself and your loved ones. Recent Scam Alert: Scammers often pose as law enforcement officers or government officials, contacting victims via phone, email, or pop-up messages. They falsely claim criminal charges linked to your IP address, alleging your IP address is associated with illegal activities. Using threats of arrest or fines, they create urgency and demand payment through untraceable methods like gift cards, wire transfers, and cryptocurrency exchanges. Tips to Avoid Becoming a Victim:
Report all fraud cases to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Stay vigilant and share this information with friends and family to prevent further victimization.
