Thanks and Appreciation
- Craft and Bake Sale. To all who donated baked goods, craft items, and festive decorations; rented tables, and attended this event, your support made for a very successful event. We are still selling items but it appears we will have raised close to $1,000. 
- The Make the Season Kind Concert. Thank you to the Centre’s musicians and all who attended this event. A cheque for $905.50 was delivered with pride to Jane Buckley, Chair of the District 3 Food Banks. Congratulations and celebrate because you all have indeed proven your kindness. 
 
 
Hats Off for Cards- Friday, December 27th at 1:30pm.  The Chester Family is hosting this initiative - a way to bridge the generational gap between youth and seniors.
A fun and interactive way to connect.  This event involves youth volunteers hosting card games including blackjack and 45’s while enjoying some refreshments. All participants are encouraged to wear a fun hat to show a sense of camaraderie and youthful spirit. After Christmas this is something exciting to look forward to, which is very important to the human spirit!
 
Open House- Monday December 30th – 1:30-Drop in. Have a Coffee and a Treat.

Breakfast- Saturday January 4th from 8am to 11 am. Cost is $10. Everyone welcome! This breakfast is sponsored by Parkland Fredericton

Core Strength and Mobility- Starting Tuesday, January 7 at 10:30am and Thursday, January 9 at 11:45am. $140 once a week, $200 for twice a week for 10 weeks or $15 for drop in.
 
Functional Mobility- Starting Tuesday, January 7 at 11:30am and Thursday, January 9 at 10:30am. $140 once a week, $200 for twice a week for 10 weeks or $15 for drop in.
 
Learn to row – Starting Friday, January 10 at 9:30am- $50 for 5 Weeks.
 
Rowing for fitness- Starting Friday, January 10 at 10:30am and 11:30am- $120 for 10 weeks.
Beginner Bridge Lessons- Starting January 15 at 1:00pm. If you have ever wanted to learn how to play, come and learn how to! Cost is $25 for 8 weeks.
 
Darts- Restarting in the new year. Tuesday January 7th  from 1-3pm
 
Canasta- Restarting Thursday January 9th at 1:00pm
 
All other regular programs start back the week of January 6th. Check the calendar for dates and times.
 
 Note: Wednesday Line dancing at the Intercultural Centre:  Improver is now at 12:15 and Beginner is at 11:15. Intermediate 1 (9:00) Intermediate 2 (10:00) remain the same.

Storm Policy
When schools are closed in the Fredericton region (Zone 6) due to weather and road conditions, the Centre is closed for the day.

Craft and Bake Sale - Saturday, December 14 at the Centre from 8:00 to noon. Tables are available for rent at a cost of $10 for members and $20 for non- members. Please call 506-450-7849 to book. The Centre graciously accepts donations of both crafts and baked goods, like a dozen of your favourite cookies or a sweet bread. Gently used Christmas decorations being passed on to someone else is great this time of year. Rest assured we will have a table of jams thanks to Grant Good and perhaps biscuits as well. Hope you will support this fund raising event.

There will be performances by 6 of the Centre’s Musical Programs. Admission is by donation for this very worthy cause. Last year, we raised $1,000.

Christmas Social- Wednesday, December 18th at 1:30pm- This is a drop in event. The members of the Writers Group will be reading from their stories. We will have some singing, games and of course treats. Join other members and celebrate the season. Family members are welcome as well.

Community Safety Meetings- The city of Fredericton will be hosting two Community Safety Open Houses where you can share your opinions and concerns about the safety issues of our City. Sunday, Dec 8 2-4pm at Grace Memorial and Tuesday, Dec 10 5-7pm at Kinsmen Center.

Fredericton Police are alerting residents to a significant increase in scam and fraud complaints. Scams are becoming more sophisticated, making it crucial to stay informed to protect yourself and your loved ones.
 
Recent Scam Alert: Scammers often pose as law enforcement officers or government officials, contacting victims via phone, email, or pop-up messages. They falsely claim criminal charges linked to your IP address, alleging your IP address is associated with illegal activities. Using threats of arrest or fines, they create urgency and demand payment through untraceable methods like gift cards, wire transfers, and cryptocurrency exchanges.
 
 
Tips to Avoid Becoming a Victim:

• Be suspicious of calls demanding money.
• Police agencies will never demand immediate payment to avoid arrest.
• Never give out personal information to unsolicited callers.
• Confirm the story with another family member.
• Never send money under uncertain conditions.
• Don't be afraid to say "No."
• HANG UP!

 
Report all fraud cases to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Stay vigilant and share this information with friends and family to prevent further victimization.
