The winner from last month’s 50/50 was Iris who shared in the $175 pot. Backgammon- Starting Monday, July 6th from 10:00 to noon. A classic two-player game combining strategy and luck. Come learn or bring your skills. You must sign-up at the Centre – call or drop in. Max 10 players. Social Tea - Wednesday, July 8th from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. Music by Silver Stones. We’d love it if you could bring your favourite cookies and squares along with the recipe for a chance to win a prize. We’ll have Tea, Coffee and cold drinks. Please sign up so we’ll have an idea of numbers to set up for. All welcome! Service Canada Clinic – Wednesday, July 8th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. This is not a presentation but an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a Service Canada Specialist, Sylvie Cummings. Ask your specific questions and/or get help with completing applications or renewing forms. You must sign-up at the Centre – call or drop in. SSSC Trivia Night- Friday, July 10th. Doors open at 6:00pm and “quizzing” starts at 6:30pm. There will be snacks. Free and open to the public. Scrabble Tournament- Saturday, July 11th at 1:00 pm. Cost $5. Minimum two (2) tables required. Call or sign-up at the Centre! Upcoming Events: Movie Matinee- Wednesday, July 15th at 1:30 pm. “Remarkably Bright Creatures” Through unlikely bonds formed during night shifts at a local aquarium, Tova, an elderly widow, learns of a life-changing discovery that may bring her joy and wonder once again. Presented by Colleen Hanna. Info Sessions are free and open to the public, so bring your friends and neighbours! Garrison Market on Thursdays, July 23 and August 27. We will be handing out brochures and other information as well as selling jam and biscuits. Members, we can use some volunteers to staff the table and don’t forget to drop by if you attend. Community Health: Our Board of Directors asks you to please use the hand sanitizer available on entering the Centre. Masks are available. If you are able to, please assist with the sanitizing of chairs and equipment used in your program. Together, let’s work to keep you and our Centre community healthy.
