It is important that all members’ voices be heard in the planning. Please complete the Survey that is being circulated and return it via email or drop it off at the Centre. There is a mail slot at the front door so you can drop it off anytime. Hard copies available at the Centre. Also, you may complete the Survey online https://forms.gle/VRF3pb49amgG6Pd27 If you have not completed yours, the deadline is May 23rd. If you prefer to do it over the phone, please let us know. Forum- Community Food Smart Program- Wednesday, May 21st at 2:00pm. Presented by Mary Farrell. These are the topics addressed: How much does it cost? What’s in the food bag? If I join, do I have order every month? Where do I order and pick up? A lucky participant will win a prize. What we have learned at Stepping Stones since offering this program is that word of mouth seems to be the best way to promote this healthy eating at reasonable prices program. You don’t need to be a member to attend. These Info Sessions are open to the public! Free! Stepping Stone Musical Showcase – Sunday, May 25th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Cultural Centre, 28 Saunders St. By donation! Members and non-members are welcome! Recently the Centre received a $2,000 donation from the Medical Society of New Brunswick. The Society’s Health Policy & Promotion Committee selected “Healthy and Active Seniors” as their theme for this year. From a list of relevant organizations our Centre was selected. They see us, Stepping Stone Senior Centre, as aligning “perfectly with our goal of fostering a safer and healthier community.” Their letter concluded with this: “we are excited about the positive impact your organization will make and we look forward to seeing the progress of your initiatives.” Upcoming New Program- Urban Sketching- Presented by Rob Cook, who refers to himself as an Enthusiastic Sketcher. Interested members are invited to come to an Information Session on Wednesday, May 28 from 10:00 to 11:30am to learn what the program will include, supplies you will need, and meet other interested sketchers. No fee. This program will run one day per week for 4 weeks : June- 4,11,18, 25. A sign-up sheet is posted at the Centre. Yard Sale – Saturday, May 31st! We’re accepting donations and booking tables! Tables for members are $10, non-members $20. If you can hang onto to your donations until Friday, May 30th we would appreciate it. Summer Sessions – Sign up at the Centre:
Community Adult Literacy Fredericton is looking for volunteers interested in becoming a tutor for our one-on-one free tutoring program. Free training provided.
