New!  Ba Duan Jin Qigong for Seniors: A Gentle Path to Wellness - Demo Wednesday, Sept 25th at 9:30 am. This class is designed to help you improve your health, relax, and feel better overall through simple, gentle exercises. Ba Duan Jin, or the Eight Pieces of Brocade, is a set of eight easy-to-learn exercises. These movements are slow and smooth, making them perfect for seniors of all fitness levels. They help improve flexibility, balance, strength, and relaxation.  Whether you're new to Qigong or have done it before, you'll find this class beneficial and enjoyable.
 
New!  24-form Yang Style Tai Chi - Demo Friday, Sept 27th at 9:30 am. Join our Yang Style Tai Chi 24 Form class, perfect for seniors looking to enhance their health and well-being through gentle, flowing movements. This popular form of Tai Chi features smooth and continuous movements designed to promote relaxation and improve both physical and mental well-being.
 
Nordic Pole Walking Tune-Up Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9:30-11am. $20 per person. This would be good for people who have already taken the Intro sessions or have their own poles.  Leader: Jane Stafford

Seniors Prom in Celebration of the International Day of the Older Person
Saturday, October 5th, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Fredericton Intercultural Centre, 28 Saunders Street. Music by the Thomists. Refreshments will be served. Donations will be accepted in support of Stepping Stone Senior Centre.


"Christmas Bus Trip - November 16th 2024" McAdam Train Station tour with a Twist- Arrive for lunch at The Lion’s Club, then an opportunity to shop at the Large Craft Sale, followed by the “Christmas House Tour” at the Station. Bus returns home by supper time! The first 50 members to sign up will receive a wonderful Early Christmas Gift!!  Your all-inclusive Bus Trip will only cost you $70.00! Non-members pay $120.00.  Sign-up sheet is posted now. Please get your name on the list.  This is NOT Christmas @ The Station.

Aging Care Symposium- The 14th annual Aging Care & Research Symposium. The Symposium takes place on September 26, 2024 at the Fredericton Inn.
The speakers at this year’s Symposium are from long-term care, aging, health and research fields. Registration includes breakfast and lunch as well as great networking opportunities. Student, Senior, and Virtual tickets are available. To register for this event, go to: www.agingsymposium.ca.
 
Seniors for Climate Change - October 1, 2024 is United Nations’ International Day of the Older Person. To celebrate, Seniors for Climate is hosting events across Canada focused on climate change and seniors. This webinar, hosted by the New Brunswick Environment Network and the Stepping Stone Senior Centre is open to anyone concerned about climate change and the risks it poses to our elders and the most vulnerable.
The Host:  Madeleine Gaudet, Stepping Stone Senior Centre, Fredericton
The Panel:
  • Dr. Renée Turcotte, Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, New Brunswick, explaining how climate change affects seniors.
  • Dr. Louise Comeau, Re. Climate and member of the Net Zero Advisory Body, will speak to the causes and solutions to climate change.
  • Jane Van Horne, retired nurse and senior homeowner, will speak to her personal experience with energy poverty and solutions
