Information Session - Stepping Stone Senior Centre welcomes back Professor in Gerontology at St. Thomas University, Janet Durkee-Lloyd for a continuation of her mental health series. Wednesday, September 17th at 10:30 am "Understanding Mental Health and Well-being Later in Life".  We will enjoy her presentations over the next 8 months. Info Sessions are open to the public. All Welcome.
 
Lunch around Freddy- Join us on Friday Sept. 19th, 11:30 am at Denny’s, 10 Rte 635.  Please Sign up by Sept. 18th, at noon. If you can offer a drive, please identify how many people you can take.
 
The Stepping Stone Singers invite you to join them.  Come and enjoy current repertoire, learn new music, and plan for fall performances for local groups. Rehearsals are on Thursdays at 9:30 am. New Programs - Starting this week!  Sign up by calling or coming in the Centre
 
Jazzercise- Tuesday, Sept. 16th at 6:30pm.  Jazz Fitness for 50+ is designed especially for beginners who want to move, stretch, and groove at their own pace. This class blends easy-to-follow jazz dance steps with gentle cardio and strength movements to help you improve balance, flexibility, and coordination. Low-impact, joint-friendly moves. Cost $30 per month or $8 for “Drop in”.
 
Yoga for Seniors- Demo class on Wednesday, Sept. 17th at 9:00 am. Classes start Sept. 24th for an 8-week series with a theme. Each class builds on the last. Participants feel supported while enjoying a sense of progression. Drop ins are welcome! Bring a mat, a pillow, and a blanket. Cost: $12 for drop-in or $85 for the 8 weeks.
 
Simply Making Art Together-  Demo class on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 11:00 am.  We’ll talk about mediums, supplies, experience, and process. Classes will start Sept. 24th and will cost $5 per session.
 
Ukulele Lessons- Demo on Wednesday, Sept 17th at 1:00 pm. This music class will guide you through the essentials of playing the ukulele. We will explore simple music theory concepts, practice moving from one chord to another, and learn to tune your own instrument. Along the way, we’ll learn a variety of songs chosen to build strumming confidence and timing. Please remember to bring your own ukulele to each session. Classes will start Sept. 24th.

24 Form Tai Chi- Mondays at 9:15 am and Fridays at 9:30am. Cost is $5 per session.
 
Latin Dance Fitness- Fridays at 10:45 am Cost is $5 per session.

Information Session- Wednesday Sept. 24- 3:00 pm. Nursing Home Without Walls- Helping older Adults Stay at Home. Nursing Home Without Walls is a free service that promotes aging in place by ensuring older adults and their families have access to appropriate knowledge, support, and services. Join us for an information session to learn more about what is offered. 
 
Bentley Group-  Reading and discussion group for seniors, every other Wed. 10:00 to 11:30 AM, starting Oct. 1. This year’s theme: The Human Journey, travel and migration from the ancients to the present.  New members welcomed.  Sample our first session without obligation!  Free!
 
 Friends Campaign- It’s that time year when the appeal for financial support for the Centre is launched. The Friends Campaign is a critical part of the Centre’s operating budget. The monies raised support the delivery of programs and activities for the members. There is no donation too small. However, tax receipts will be issued for an amount over $10.
 
Seniors Prom- In celebration of the International Day of the Older Person. Saturday October 4th, 2-4pm at the Cultural Centre 28 Saunders Street. Music by the Thomists. Refreshments will be served. There is no cost.

Death Café – Friday, September 19th from 1:30 – 3:00 pm at the Fredericton Public Library. The goal is to become more comfortable thinking and talking about death and dying so you can be more at ease when engaging in conversations with your loved ones about your end-of-life wishes or theirs.  For more information contact [email protected]

Day of Older Person - Wednesday, October 1st, from 8:30 – 12:30, at St. Thomas University, Kinsella Auditorium, 51 Dineen Dr.  A day of learning and connection, with updates on the What We All Want long-term care recommendations from the Advocate, powerful stories from those with lived experience, and insights from experts shaping the future of care. Fundraiser by the Elm City Echoes- Fredericton’s Ladies Barbershop A Cappella Chorus, are selling packages of Fancy Pokket bagels. The packages contain 6 large bagels, pre-sliced. Cost is $5 per package.  Flavours available: Plain, Chocolate Chip, Blueberry, Whole Wheat, Cinnamon Raisin, and Everything (garlic, onion, sesame seeds and poppy seeds).  Orders by Sept. 29 and delivery on Tuesday, October 21st.
