Beginner Guitar Lessons- Welcome to Edward’s Basic Guitar for Beginners starting Monday, February 24th at 3:15pm. Cost $10.00 per session. In this course you will be guided on the aspects of the guitar and how to make music. Some of the topics you will cover are the parts of the guitar the differences between acoustic and electric guitars. How to tune your guitar. You will learn basic strumming techniques and you will learn how to play songs. We will travel this learning journey together and by the end of this course you will have the confidence to pick-up your guitar and play for your family and friends. AGM Toonie Lunch- To be held prior to the meeting, February 26th at 12:00 noon. Yes, this is to encourage you to come to the Centre, have your lunch, and stay for the meeting. The Menu will give you the choice of the following for a Toonie: 2 kinds of homemade soup 2 kinds of homemade tea biscuits 2 kinds of homemade cookies- tea and coffee Stepping Stone Senior Centre Annual General Meeting- To be held at the Centre, Wednesday, February 26th at 1:30pm. Copy of all reports are now available at the Centre. All members are invited and encouraged to attend! Upcoming Breakfast- Saturday March 1st from 8 to 11 am. Cost is $10. Everyone is welcome. Help with Technology-Good News! Back by popular demand, Help with Technology provided by students from NB Community College is coming back to the Centre. Their Instructor, Kevin Bourque, will also be coming. The dates of classes will be on the following Fridays : March 7, March 14, and March 21 from 10:30 to 12:30. There can be 6 members in each class and 2 more coming each day at 11:30 as stand-by for those who might not need the 2 hours. That is a total of 24 members for the 3 classes. Out and About- Open to all who wish to come along providing tickets are available. Saturday, March 8 at 2:00pm. Open Space Theatre, 55 Whiting Rd, TNB production of "Obrien” written by Thomas Head. It is 1914 and Hugh Obrien, a conductor for the St. John St. Railway Co., is raising two sons with wife, Kate. Tickets are $35.04. Note: Everyone is responsible for own tickets and transportation. Movie Matinee- Sunday March 9th at 2:00pm- “5 Flights Up” A long-time married couple who've spent their lives together in the same New York apartment become overwhelmed by personal and real estate-related issues when they plan to move away. Bring your own Snacks. Beginner Kitting Lessons-There is the possibility that we may have Learn to Knit morning classes to run from mid- March to mid-April. Please let us know if you are interested. There will be a sign-up sheet posted at the Centre. Community Free Tax Clinics provided by Volunteers and students from NB Community College will be held at Stepping Stone Senior Centre on a first come first served basis( no appointments) on the following dates: Wednesday, March 19th from 6-9pm and Saturday, March 29th from 1-5pm. More dates to come. Sexual Violence New Brunswick- is recruiting volunteers for their support line. Involvement with the volunteer training gives folks the opportunity to gain experience, knowledge, and skills. This initiative aims to provide students with more affordable and accessible housing options. There are 100 students at UNB looking for intergenerational housing.
