Music 101 for Performers – Tuesday, August 26th from 1:30 – 3:00 pm. This program is for the Centre’s performers or those interested in joining the group. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or just want to learn the fundamentals of music, these sessions could be for you. No previous music experience is required. Should you be a concert trained performer, you are most welcome to come along. Urban Sketching – Rob Cook has agreed to come back and do another 4 weeks of Urban Sketching starting in August. The dates will be Wednesdays, August 27th, and Wednesday, September 3rd. The sessions will take place from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and will be in various locations around the city. In search of: Stepping Stone Singers- The Stepping Stone Singers are in need of a pianist for the fall. If you might be interested in trying us out for the fall season, with an eye to a possible long term association, please contact us at the Centre. Or if you know of anyone who might be looking to volunteer with a senior’s musical group, please let us know and we can follow up. Community Notices Come Over- Capacity Building Options for Mental Health Services for adults 60+ years old. Free group therapy sessions starting Fall, 2025 for 12 weeks, 2 hour sessions. This group is designed to meet the needs of older adults struggling with low mood. It serves as a space to connect with others, share, get support, and develop skills to cope with life’s challenges. New Brunswick Community College Workshops: Senior Care Navigation and Care Skills Development Program is offering FREE Workshops for Friend/Family Caregivers and Seniors. Lifelong learning for seniors (Fredericton, classes start September 3, 2025) New Brunswick Community College Are you 60 or older and want to explore new ideas, meet new people, and learn new things — all without the pressure of tests, grades, or cost. We’re excited to introduce our Life-Long Learning Pilot Project in the Fredericton area! This special opportunity invites seniors to audit college classes for free—yes, free! No exams, no grades— just the joy of learning. Here’s what you need to know: • Courses are for audit only – no credits, no final exams, no pressure. • Participation is encouraged – join discussions, share your wisdom, and enjoy the classroom vibe. • A laptop is required – general computer literacy is recommended. • Registration and orientation are a must – they’ll guide you through everything you need to get started. Silver Dolphins-The Fredericton Silver Dolphins Aquatic Club for adults age 50 & over is open to new members this fall. Classes are Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoon, offering aquatic instruction and/or lap swimming at the UNB Sir Max Aitken pool. Fall term begins Monday, Sep 8th. Cost per term is $100 per term. This immersive exhibit offers an opportunity to deepen our understanding of refugee experience and the broader theme of displacement and resilience. The exhibit will be on display until September 28, 2025.
