Craft & Bake Sale - This Saturday, November 29th - 8:00 am to noon.
 Come shopping on Saturday, November 29 anytime between 8:00 and noon.
Those who have rented tables if they wish may bring in their items and setup on Friday between 4 and 6 pm. The Centre will be open at 7 am on Saturday for setup. Thank you for your support. Your Events/Fundraising Committee.
 
Friends of the Centre Campaign - Our appeal for financial support for the Centre is in full swing.  This Campaign is a critical part of the Centre’s operating budget. The monies raised support the delivery of programs and activities for the members.  There is no donation too small; however, tax receipts will be issued for an amount of $10 or more.
 
Christmas is coming and we have the perfect gift for your friends and relatives 50 years old and over SSSC Membership Gift Certificates!  For $25 you can give the gift of a full year of activities!  The gift of belonging!
 
Attention Centre Volunteers!  We have a couple of events coming up and we could use your support.  Sign up is on the Bulletin Board in the hallway across from Reception and Front Room.
 
Jam Jars- We are in need of 250ml jam jars and the bands.
 
Members pay 50% of the rental fee!  Gather your friends and family in a warm, comfortable environment during the holidays.  Use of the kitchen is included in the price.
 
Upcoming Events:
 
Rudy Stocek Memorial Breakfast- Saturday, Dec. 6th from 8:00 – 11:00.  This breakfast is sponsored by the Stocek Family. Only $10 for a full hot, freshly prepared meal including sausage, potatoes, eggs, pancakes, beans, biscuits, juice, tea and coffee.  Everyone is welcome!  Bring your friends and neighbours!!
 
Christmas Concert – Five Musical Groups Present Their Christmas Concert in support of the Regional Food Banks - Sunday, December 14th, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Cultural Centre, 28 Saunders St. Your cash donations will be collected at the door. Help Needed: Is there anyone out there who could transport the Centre’s keyboard ( large and heavy) from the Centre to the Cultural Centre ( around 12:30) and back ( 4:00) on Sunday, December 14?  We need it for the concert supporting the Food Banks. Our Community’s Health
 
Our Board of Directors asks you to please use the hand sanitizer available on entering the Centre.  Masks are available. If you are able, please assist with the sanitizing of chairs and equipment used in your program. Together, let’s work to keep you and our Centre community healthy. Win! Win!  
 
Community Notices
 
Greener Village:   Turkey Drive – The goal is 2,200 turkeys.  Donate at participating local grocers.  Every $35 buys a turkey for a family in need.  For more information 506.459.7461 or [email protected]
 
Wheels to Meals – Tuesday, December 2nd from 11 – 12:45 for $10.  Serving a hot, freshly prepared meal including dessert and tea/coffee.  The Doucet Family will be entertaining the group.  Register at 506-458-9482 by Monday, Dec. 1 @ 10am.  Transportation to and from is available and so are take-outs.
 
Meals on Wheels Appeal - As you are aware, the need for the service that Meals on Wheels provides has grown substantially. We are on track to deliver over 100,000 in this fiscal year.  If you would like to support this annual fundraising initiative, the options below work very well:

NBCC – Life-long Learning for Seniors (60+) – FREE
This special opportunity invites seniors to audit college classes.  No exams, no grades, just the joy of learning!  Classes start January 5th.  A laptop is required.  For more information email [email protected] or call 1-506-371-4063.
 
Understanding How Retirement Affects Older Adults (UNB Research)  Participants will be asked to complete a survey in person or online.  If after the initial survey, you are interested in continuing, an interview will be scheduled.  This research is looking into physical health, mental health, social connections, financial security, and spiritual fulfillment.  Incentives are available for those who participate. Seniors for Climate Change – Lobbying Members of Parliament!  Make your views loud and clear and impossible to ignore!!  Call on them to: hold firm on climate targets, stop using tax $$$ to fund fossil-fuel and pipeline expansion, use tax $$$ to speed up clean energy transition, and invest in creating a clean and healthy legacy.  Contact the Prime Minister and members of cabinet
 
 
Reminder:  When Schools in Region 6 are closed due to inclement weather,
the Stepping Stone Senior Centre will close as well.
