This supportive session focuses on relaxation, breathing, and light guided imagery to calm the mind and ease tension in the body. No floor work is required; all practices are done comfortably seated. Improve mental clarity and emotional wellbeing while connecting with others. Suitable for beginners and experienced meditators alike. Leave feeling refreshed, centred, and peacefully restored each week. Regular classes are $5. Functional Mobility- Starting Tuesday, March 17th at 11:30am and Thursday, March 19th at 10:30am. Cost is $120 dollars for 10 weeks or $ 15 for drop in. Info Session – Wednesday, March 18th at 10:30 am. Understanding Psychosis in Later Life with Dr. Janet Durkee Lloyd. What happens when the mind has difficulty sorting out what is real and what is not real? This workshop will examine what psychosis is and how to recognize what it looks like in older adults. Learn to Row- Starting Friday, March 20th at 11:30 am. Cost is $75 dollars for 6 weeks or $ 15 for drop in. Lunch Around Freddy - Friday, March 20th at 11:30 am. The Hilltop, 1034 Prospect St, Fredericton. Call or sign-up at the Centre by the day before. Scrabble Tournament - Saturday, March 21st at 1:00pm. Sign up or call to register for a social afternoon, enjoying Scrabble. Invite your friends. Cost $5. Minimum number of tables required is 2. Upcoming Events: Register by calling the Centre or drop in to sign-up. Yang Style 8 Form Tai Chi for Beginners – Demo Class on Wednesday, March 25th at 10:30am. Gentle, flowing movements that promote relaxation and improve both physical and mental well-being. This will become a regular class if there is enough interest. Drop in for the Demo class (free) and register for the regular classes ($5) at the Centre. Community Health: Our Board of Directors asks you to please use the hand sanitizer available on entering the Centre. Masks are available. If you are able to, please assist with the sanitizing of chairs and equipment used in your program. Together, let’s work to keep you and our Centre community healthy. Only $25 for a full year of belonging, socializing, and accessing programs and activities. Membership Renewals must be in by April 1 to continue receiving the Weekly Update and the Monthly Calendar by email. Lost & Found – Please check the items left behind (where the coat rack is located) to retrieve any items you may have left behind by accident. Reminder: The Centre is closed all day and evening when the local schools (i.e. Anglophone West School District – Zone 6) are closed because of stormy weather or poor driving conditions. Any day that the Centre is closed, for any reason, a notice is emailed to Members, posted on Facebook, and announced on CBC. Community Notices Men’s Wellness Collective – a Support Group meets every Tuesday at 6:30 pm at 75 Melissa St., Pepper Creek (3rd door on the side of the building).
