Info Session on Aging & Nutrition - Wednesday, May 6th at 3:00 pm.  Aging & Nutrition
In this interactive session we will focus on what are nutrition and healthy eating habits and how they change as we age. Come learn with Julien, a dietetic intern at the DECRH.
 
American Mahjongg Social - Saturday, May 9th at 12:00pm. Cost $5. A minimum of 16 participants is needed.  Please sign up at the Centre or call to have your name added to the list!

Lunch Around Freddy- Friday, May 15th at 11:30 am. Sunshine Diner, 7 Brookmount St, Fredericton.  Call or sign-up at the Centre by noon on Thursday May 14th.
 
SSSC Social - Second Trivia Night – Friday, May 15th. Doors open at 6:00pm and “quizzing” starts at 6:30pm. There will be snacks. 
 
Scrabble Tournament- Saturday, May 16th at 1:00pm. Cost $5. Minimum two (2) tables required.  Call or sign-up at the Centre!
 
Save The Date - Yard/Bake Sale - Saturday, May 30th from 8:00 am to noon. Tables available to rent: for Members $10, Non-Members $20. The Centre will be accepting donations for their tables after May 25th.  Storage space is an issue.
 
Community Health:
 
Our Board of Directors asks you to please use the hand sanitizer available on entering the Centre.  Masks are available. If you are able to, please assist with the sanitizing of chairs and equipment used in your program. Together, let’s work to keep you and our Centre community healthy.

Step it Up for Stepping Stone Senior Centre's 25th -To celebrate the Centre's 25th Anniversary, we also celebrated healthy lifestyles.  If you have kept track of your activities in the past month, it’s time to turn in your log sheet.  We will announce the total number of hrs and kms logged by everyone who participated on May 8th.  
One of our facilitators took the time to share this with us: “What started as a small class has grown into something that truly feels like a community.  Students are showing up consistently, supporting one another, and building confidence in their movement.  You can feel the joy in the room.  There is laughter, encouragement, and a real sense of belonging!  It’s been incredible to watch their progress and to see them feel stronger, more capable, and more connected each week.” Nancy Swartz, Grace in Motion Yoga.
 
Donations Needed for Outreach Program - Every week since June 2025, women have weekly visited downtown Fredericton with a wagon full of needed items and food to give out to people living on the streets. At Stepping Stone Senior Centre, we will take the month of May to support this worthwhile initiative. We will make use of the box in front of the volunteer desk in which we normally gather items for Greener Village. Please consider supporting this outreach program by dropping off the following items:

• Juice boxes and water 

• Individually wrapped snacks ( no chocolate as it melts)
• Men and women’s socks and underwear

Any day that the Centre is closed, for any reason, a notice is emailed to Members, posted on Facebook, and announced on CBC Information Morning.

Municipal Election – Voting Dates and Times: You may vote at the Returning Offices (Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday, 10:00 to 5:00 pm).  Office is at 25 Allison Blvd. 
You should have received a Voter Information card in the mail to bring with you.
Advance Voting - Saturday, May 2nd and Monday, May 4th.
Election Day, Monday, May 11th from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
 
30 Years of Quilting – May 22nd from 10am-8pm & May 23rd from 9am-3pm – Fredericton Exhibition, 361 Smythe St., Fredericton. $5 admission. Featuring hundreds of quilts and quilted items.  Demos! Shopping! Refreshments!!
