However, if you are interested in staying for pizza at the end, there will be a shared cost. Forum-Dementia Friendly Community – Wednesday, November 22nd at 3:00 pm The presentation will give an introduction to dementia. How dementia impacts those living with the illness, how it impacts caregivers caring for someone with the illness, and how to build and foster dementia friendly communities. Presenter is Ben McLaughlin Volunteers Wanted : 2 or 3 volunteers to help with clean-up after Breakfast on the first Saturday of the month. Job description: Come to a free breakfast around 10:30 and stay until all tables and chairs are cleaned, tables folded and put away, chairs stacked on trolleys, and garbage taken out to dumpster. If enough volunteers come forward, we could make up a list and divide up the months. First opportunity will be Dec. 2. Thank you. Friends of The Stepping Stone Senior Centre – The Centre’s annual appeal for financial support continues until the end of December. Income-tax deductible receipts are provided for any donations $10 and over. The goal is $5,000 and we are just over $4,000- So close! Gift Certificates are now available to cover a membership for 2024.This would make a wonderful gift for a friend or family member. You would be giving someone a year’s access to the Centre’s programs and activities and opportunities to socialize. Upcoming Breakfast- Saturday December 2 from 8:00 to 11:00 $10. Everyone welcome! Community News Digital Storytelling with Older Adults: Do you have a story to tell? The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Narrative at St. Thomas University is looking for participants for a digital storytelling project, which includes working with students to record and edit a short video story about the lives of older adults in NB. If you are interested in participating or learning more, please contact Dr. Clive Baldwin at [email protected] or 506-452-9596. Reece Ronan, our Summer Student and Breakfast Volunteer is involved with this project. City of Fredericton- Public Workshop- The general public and recreational users are invited to the Fredericton Convention Centre on Tuesday November 21 from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm. This is an overall opportunity for residents to provide initial thoughts and input on the Recreation and Leisure Master Plan.
