This beautiful Lap Quilt, the pattern is “Stepping Stones” was pieced by the Centre’s Sewing Sisters: Carol, Carol Anne, Denise, Debbie, Elaine, Leanne, Marilyn, and Mary Lou. The quilting was done by Centre Members Gwenda and Eugene Mattinson. The work and effort was for a Centre Fund Raiser. Thank you to all. Cost per person is $130.00 including all taxes and gratuities. Includes a delicious turkey dinner, entertainment during the meal by the “Station Folks”, music by Bob Johnson, and ending with a Christmas sing-along. Pick up at 4:00pm from the Frex parking lot. Time is running short. If you are planning to gift yourself this magical experience, come in to the Centre and sign- up to ensure you have a seat. You need to register and pay by November 10th Stepping Stone Singers- The group is gearing up for the winter season and Christmas performances. We welcome all singers but are especially needing some additional male voices. Rehearsals are Thursday morning 9:30 to 11:30 am. Remembrance Day War Time Menu Luncheon On Saturday November 11 from noon to 1:30, Forest Hill United Church will be serving a luncheon with a war time menu of Baked Beans, Brown Bread and War Cake, Tea, Coffee or Juice. Eat in or Take-out. Libby and Brian Cassidy will be playing appropriate music during the meal. Adults are $12.00 and children $6.00. Presented by Adrienne McNair, Client Care Navigator. The services address unique needs- the everyday activities that sighted people take for granted- like reading medication labels, walking in their neighbourhood, or preparing meals. Open to all at no cost. There will be 50 Exhibitors, 4 Information sessions ( Library) and 4 Try It sessions (side gym) 2 Wednesday October 18th at 11:30- Lunch around Freddy- Porter’s Diner. Forum-Wednesday -October 18th at 3:30- Tim Yerxa, Executive Director of Fredericton Playhouse Inc. will give an update on the status of the new Fredericton Performing Arts Centre project – and an important milestone that has recently been reached. He’ll walk through final designs of the building and spaces and outline the funding plan, including the newly launched Encore! community campaign. The Performing Arts Centre will be a community hub that will remove barriers to accessing the performing arts, and Tim will speak to the universal design elements being incorporated into the building, making it much easier for seniors – and all citizens – to experience the magic onstage. 4.
