Community Volunteer Income Tax Program - Friday April 5th from 1:00 to 4:00 and Saturday April 13th from 10:00 to 2:00. Forum - Wednesday April 3rd 3:00pm – The Tension Triangle- Presented by Ann Marie Hartford. In this presentation we will explore the connection between physical tension and psychological stress and we will share tips to ease both. Breakfast - April 6th from 8-11am. Cost is $10 . All are welcome. There is the opportunity to play in the breakfast 50/50. At the last breakfast the winner and the Centre shared $228. Dementia: Connections and Communications- This is a very informative one-hour session presented by Robin Smart, Public Education Coordinator, from the Alzheimer Society Waterloo/ Wellington. She shares the 10 warning signs of Dementia and the best practices for communication. There is reference to additional resources. No prior meditation experience necessary. Scheduled for Tuesday, March 19 from 1:30 to 2:15 pm. You just need a telephone( cell or landline). The Topic will be The Dictionary of Flowers. Spring is coming and flowers are on our minds. We invite those interested in participating or know of someone who might like to connect with others and try it out. How does it work? 1. You call the Centre- 506-450-7849 or 506-668-0141. Leave your name and phone number by 4:00 pm on Monday, March 18. 2. You will receive a call back from Madeleine confirming your participation and to answer any questions you may have. We would love to have up to 10 participants to start. 3. Before the 1:30 pm start time of the program on Tuesday, you will be called and connected with the other participants. It is then your choice as to your level of participation. You may ask questions of the Facilitator, Lyne Ouellet, add your comments or just listen in and enjoy the meanings of Flowers. Our hope is to develop a monthly calendar to include time and day of the week as well as the topic. Help With Technology – Friday, March 22nd 10:30am is out last scheduled session. Calls are being made to confirm members to participate. The Centre will be discussing future similar opportunities to partner with New Brunswick Community College. Stay tuned! On Friday March 8, The Honourable Jean- Yves Duclos, Minister of Public Services and Procurement, will be at the Stepping Stone Senior Centre for an information session on the details of new Canada Dental Plan. He will be accompanied by our local Member of Parliament, Jenica Atwin. The session will begin at 11:15 and run until 12:30.
